What is Chicken Malai Boti?
The term ''malai'' is a Urdu word which means creamy any the "boti " is also a Urdu word which means piece.The name "Mali Boti" is derived from the style of cooking, bone less chicken is used to make mali boti.marinate the chicken in yogurt,ginger-garlic paste,lemon juice,fresh cream,turmeric powder and salt.This marinade helps to tenderize the chicken and also help to increase the flavors.
After marinating for a few hours or overnight, the chicken is skewered and grilled over a charcoal fire or cooked in a tandoor (clay oven) for that smoky and charred flavor. It is often served with naan (traditional bread) and mint chutney, sliced onions.
Chicken Mali Boti is loved for its juicy texture, aromatic spices, and the smoky flavor imparted by the grilling process. It is a popular choice for outdoor picnic, family gatherings, and special occasions.
How to make chicken malai boti?
I am going to share a very easy recipe of Chicken Malai Boti, a delicious and creamy chicken dish and most popular in Pakistan and India.
Recipe card :
- 500 grams of boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic past
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh cream
- 2 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons cashew nut paste
- 2 tablespoons almond paste
- 1 tablespoon white pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon garm masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Lemon wedges
- Onion rings
Method :
1. Take a deep bowl add yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, fresh cream, grated cheddar cheese, cashew nut paste, almond paste, white pepper powder, garm masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt mix all ingredients well to make a marinade.
2. Add the chicken cubes chicken breast is a good to make this dish but chicken leg piece also used in the marinade and coat chicken well. Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, if you want to make it more decilicious then put them overnight.
3. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
4. Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the soaked wooden or mental skewers, making sure to leave a little space between each piece.
5. To prevent sticking must add oil on the oven tray with help of brush and then put the skewers on the grill or try and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turn up side down until the chicken is cooked well and becomes a golden brown color.
6. Once cooked, remove the chicken skewers from the heat and let them cool down for a few minutes.
7.leaves, lemon wedges and onion rings. It served with naan bread, rice, or salad.
