Keema Infused Potato Temptations: Unforgettable Culinary Harmony


What is Keema potatoes? 


Keema potatoes is a popular Indian dish that combination of meat (keema) and potatoes. It is a flavorful and hearty dish made with lamb or beef, although other meats such as chicken  can also be used. The dish is known for its rich and flavorful  spices, which can be  depending on regional and personal taste.


To prepare keema potatoes, the meat is cooked with a blend of spices such as cumin, coriander, turmeric, gram masala, and chili powder. The minced meat is usually browned in a pan with onions, garlic, and ginger, creating a fragrant base. Potatoes are then added to the mixture, along with tomatoes and sometimes peas.


The dish is typically simmered until the meat is cooked through and the flavors meld together. It is often served with rice or bread, such as roti or naan. 


How to make keema potatoes dish?


There are two delicious Keema Potato recipes for you  must try at home .

Recipe card 


Keema Potato Curry:


  •  1 lb (450g) ground lamb or beef
  •  4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  •   1 Inch  ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  •  2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  •  1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon gram masala
  •  1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  •  Salt to taste
  •  Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish


Method:


1. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

2. Add chopped onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the pan. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.

3. Add ground meat to the pan and cook until it is browned and it become tender.

4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric, coriander, gram masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes, until the tomatoes are soft and the spices are well combined.

5. Add the cubed potatoes to the pan and mix well with the meat and spices. Pour in a little water (about 1/2 cup) and cover the pan.for about 20-25 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.

6. Garnish with fresh coriander ,green chili and serve the Keema Potato curry with rice or roti.




Keema Stuffed Potatoes:


Recipe  card :

  •  4 large potatoes
  •  1 lb (450g) ground chicken 
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  •  2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  •  1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  •  Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Garnish

  •  Fresh coriander, green chili. chopped ,ring onion optional  for garnish


Method:


1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Press the potatoes with a fork and bake them for about 40-45 minutes or until they are tender. Let them cool slightly.

2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a skillet or pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until onions become golden brown.

3. Add ground chicken to the pan and cook until it is browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon.

4. Stir in cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

5. Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop out the flesh, leaving a thin layer of potato on the skin. Mash the scooped-out potato flesh.

6. Mix the mashed potato with the cooked keema mixture. Fill each potato skin with the keema and potato mixture.

7. Place the stuffed potatoes on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

8. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve the Keema Stuffed Potatoes as a delicious  dish
